Live Like You're Dying Workshops

About the Event
“Death is a mirror in which the entire meaning of life is reflected." - Sogyal Rinpoche
This course is for anyone who wants to live intentionally and for those who have a history of death in their family.
What is it?
This workshop makes meaning of life and death by exploring our beliefs, wishes and fears relating to how we live and die. We’ll ask life-affirming questions such as:
- How does awareness of death change the way I engage in life?
- If I had three months left to live, what might I value most and what are my priorities?
- What kind of care would I like to receive if I had three months left to live?
This journey helps you envision and actualize conscious living while making a tangible plan for conscious dying. We will each imagine we have 3 months left to live beginning the first day of class. Through this lens, we're able to reflect on what is most important to us across various aspects of life (physical, spiritual, emotional, meaning/life legacy and after-death care/ceremonies). By the end of the course, you will have completed your own "Manual of Intentional Living and Dying" that shows what your priorities are across these domains, integrates them into your life now and also serves as a manual of your end of life wishes so you can receive the empowering and life-affirming care you want at the end of life...whenever that may be.
This is a tool FOR LIVING.

"If one doesn’t know how to die, one can hardly know how to live — because death is a part of life." -Thich Nhat Hanh
"Hannah invites us to befriend death or at least to see death as a teacher. Through getting to know death as a natural and even sacred rite of passage, I was able to see how that changes my dance with life itself. This class transformed my relationship with myself...with others. I am forever changed. This is important work." - Matt C.
"Taking this course with Hannah shifted my whole perspective on life and death. What started as a scary and emotionally triggering subject has transformed into an empowering reminder of how to live the life I want on a daily basis, and how to make space for death as a natural part of life. I left this class feeling enriched and connected to the special community of others who were also on the journey." - Rebecca C.
"Hannah’s authenticity, compassion and dedication shine through while doing this work. She offers us tools to talk about the end of life, this massive subject largely ignored by society. This course allowed me to explore and dive into these decisions thoughtfully and with grace. I am motivated to start things that I’ve put off for years. This gave me time to re-evaluate what I want to spend my energy on now as well as decisions and actions I can take to make my end of life transition easier not only for myself, but for my loved ones." - Natalia D
"I felt so connected to others in the group and am still processing how emotional and insightful the experiences were. It has led me to do a lot of introspection and has transformed my life to have more of a “carpe diem” approach. The entire course was so meaningful. Priceless." - Patricia B.
